Review applications: team area, distance, source

Jobmaps separates what applicants see from what stays in the team, and shows each application’s distance to the workplace and its source.

At a glance

  • The application view is clearly split: the application and the team area on the left, the chat with the applicant on the right

  • Applicants state where they live, employers see the distance to the workplace in kilometres

  • Every new application shows its source, such as the employer's own website, a search engine or a partner portal

Anyone reviewing applications wants to know three things right away: what does the applicant see, how far do they live from work, and which channel did they come through? Jobmaps now answers all three directly in the application. That saves questions within the team and shows which channels bring in applications.

What do applicants see, and what stays in the team?

The application view on Jobmaps is split into two sides. On the left are the application with all documents, labelled "Candidate sees this", and the team area with rating and notes, labelled "Team only". On the right is only the chat with the applicant. It is always clear who reads what.

Notes now work like a conversation within the team. Everyone assessing an application writes their view in the team area and sees the notes and ratings of the others there. Applicants see none of it and are never notified. People who open an application through a shared link also write their notes in the team area. In the applicant overview, a filled red dot stands for a new message from the applicant, a red ring for news from the team.

How far does an applicant live from the workplace?

Applicants now state where they live along with their contact details: country, postcode and town, no street. Jobmaps calculates the straight-line distance to the workplace and shows it in kilometres in the applicant overview. In the application itself and in the PDF, the place of residence appears as its own line. If a job has several workplaces, the nearest one counts. Applications received before the launch do not show it.

Which channel did the application come from?

Every new application shows its source: right next to date and distance in the overview, and as the line "Source" in the application. Jobmaps distinguishes, among others, the employer's own website (job widget), search engines, social media, LinkedIn, the RAV Job-Room, partner portals and direct visits. Applications from a Booster campaign are marked separately. Employers see which channels actually bring in applications.
