Since August 2024, over 300 people have completed the Z-TDI on Jobmaps. The first analysis reveals how Switzerland works in teams.
Since August 2024, Jobmaps has offered the Z-TDI — the Zurich Team Diagnostic Inventory, developed at the Department of Applied Psychology at ZHAW. The free test measures in about five minutes how a person works in teams — along three dimensions: task vs. person, strategy vs. execution, and change vs. stability. This produces eight possible team profiles. Now, the first analysis is available: over 300 people have completed the test.
Stability and strategy dominate
Two of the eight profiles are by far the most common. Together, they account for over two-thirds of all results. What they share: both prefer a stable work environment and think strategically. The difference lies in the first dimension — task-oriented or relationship-oriented.
Same profiles, reversed order
The gender analysis reveals a striking pattern: men and women share the same two top profiles — but in reversed order. The shared foundation remains the same: stability and strategy. The difference shows exclusively in the first dimension.
| Profile | Men | Women |
|---|---|---|
| Aufgabe / Stabilität / Strategie | 46 % | 29 % |
| Person / Stabilität / Strategie | 26 % | 37 % |
| Aufgabe / Veränderung / Strategie | 8 % | 7 % |
| Person / Veränderung / Umsetzung | 6 % | 8 % |
| Aufgabe / Stabilität / Umsetzung | 6 % | 2 % |
| Person / Stabilität / Umsetzung | 3 % | 7 % |
| Aufgabe / Veränderung / Umsetzung | 3 % | 6 % |
| Person / Veränderung / Strategie | 3 % | 5 % |
Among men, the task-oriented type dominates (46%). Among women, the relationship-oriented type leads (37%). Another pattern: women are distributed more evenly across all eight profiles.
Professionals in mid-career
The majority of participants are female (56%), aged between 31 and 50 (64%), and in the middle of their careers.
| Age | Proportion | Gender | Proportion |
|---|---|---|---|
| 31–40 | 37 % | Weiblich | 56 % |
| 41–50 | 27 % | Männlich | 43 % |
| 51–60 | 19 % | Divers | 1 % |
| 21–30 | 12 % | ||
| 61+ | 4 % |
The test reaches exactly the target audience it was designed for: mid-career professionals who want to better understand their team strengths — for their next career move, in job interviews, or in professional development.
Scientifically validated, free to use
The Z-TDI was developed as part of a START project at the Department of Applied Psychology at ZHAW and has been psychometrically tested. The results were presented at the Swiss Society of Psychology conference in 2025. Jobmaps contributed to the development and implementation and offers the test free of charge.
With 324 participants, this analysis is not representative — but it sparks curiosity. Want to find out your own team type? The test takes five minutes and is free.
