What employers look for
Case management roles focus on three areas: hospitals, where case managers plan departures and coordinate patient pathways; insurers and IV offices, where it concerns sickness benefits, UVG cases, and occupational reintegration; and work integration with case management in programs and networks. In addition, there is corporate case management at large employers that accompanies employees after absences.
The background is usually social work, nursing, or insurance specialists, complemented by further training in case management (often a CAS). The work is coordination rather than treatment: managing cases, mobilizing networks, writing reports. Part-time positions are common, often with a home-office component for insurers.
A high standard of German is essential—reports go to doctors, insurers, and authorities. French is requested depending on the catchment area.
