What employers look for
Logistics roles revolve around the warehouse: goods receipt and inspection, picking, packing, loading and unloading trucks—in the internal logistics of industrial companies and in the distribution centers of trade and transport firms. Production-related positions at machines and equipment belong in the same environment.
Specialist positions require the EFZ or EBA as a logistician, often with a forklift license; in addition, there are many helper and temp roles without formal qualifications, also part-time or on weekends. The work is physically demanding, and depending on the company, shift work is common. ERP knowledge such as SAP is a plus in larger warehouses.
Solid spoken German is sufficient for most positions. A career change is quite possible—on-the-job training is provided.
