R&D Engineer

Role and responsibilities
In this role you will have the opportunity to drive high quality life cycle management of critical power equipment: from developing new products and features to maintaining and improving existing solutions. Each day, you will use your skills and technical expertise to generate mechanical design requirements. You will also showcase your expertise by testing and documenting your designs for coordination with other technical teams within AU Critical Power. You will be mainly accountable for contributing to the mechanical design, development, and documentation of new and enhanced critical power equipment, from concept through release and maintenance. Collaborate across engineering and business functions to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions that meet customer, project, and operational requirements. Participate in design reviews, verification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, incorporating feedback and driving product optimization. Support prototype development and fabrication, ensuring successful validation, industrialization, and enhancement of products throughout their lifecycle.

Qualifications and Skills
A University Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2+ years of experience and knowledge of solid modeling CAD design software (Creo, etc.) required
A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills. You are at ease communicating in English
Knowledge sheet metal design, detail part drawings, assembly drawings, and design for manufacturing.
Experience interpreting and applying electrical safety standards (UL/IEC, etc.). Experience in structural simulation and PLM software is a plus.
