Role and responsibilities
Develop, improve and implement processes of LBL’s customs procedures, origin management, sanction lists screening, dual-use classification and export controls. Functionally lead trade compliance resources in the LBL. Lead and oversee Trade Compliance within the Local Business Line (LBL), including the implementation and continuous improvement of ABB’s Trade Compliance Program, internal directives, internal control system, local trade reviews, self-audits, and corrective actions. Provide expert guidance and training on customs, origin, export control, and sanctions compliance, supporting the LBL, coordinating trade compliance resources and support functions, and maintaining strong alignment with key stakeholders such as CTCO, TCS, PCE, declarants, and logistics teams. Drive Trade Compliance in day-to-day operations and complex projects, including risk assessments, internal checks, master data and supplier-related compliance requirements, and regular updates to stakeholders on implementation progress and relevant regulatory changes. Advise and drive all trade compliance matters in LBL’s complex projects to different countries

Qualifications and Skills
Degree as a Foreign Trade Specialist / Manager or Export Control / Customs Compliance Officer with at least 8 years of experience in a relevant field (Senior Trade Compliance or Legal/Compliance background)
Excellent experience in free trade and preferential origins as well as in trade compliance matters
Solid knowledge in Swiss (GKV), EU and US (EAR) dual-use and sanctions regulations
Experience in an industry with large project businesses in various countries and ability as a people leader and solution-oriented team player
SAP and SAP GTS E4H experiences
Fluent in English, German is a plus
