Sales Manager - Panel Builders

Role and responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop the local Panel Builders sales team, fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture and ensuring strong market coverage across all regions of Switzerland. Drive profitable growth by identifying new business opportunities and implementing effective sales, market segmentation, and pricing strategies aligned with ABB’s business objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners, ensuring an excellent customer experience throughout the entire sales process. Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product marketing, operations, and other stakeholders to support business success, while coordinating sales information flow, providing accurate forecasts and market insights, and managing commercial and contractual risks.

Team / description

Electrification offers technologies across the entire electrification value chain—from the substation to the point of consumption. In doing so, it contributes to a secure and reliable power supply. The portfolio includes digital and connected innovations that improve the reliability and efficiency of low- and medium-voltage electrical installations. These include electric vehicle charging infrastructure, modular substations, distribution automation solutions, switchgear, sensor technology and control systems, as well as KNX systems for the automation and networking of building infrastructure.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or similar in a technical field (preferably Electrical Engineering) with minimum 3 years of successful sales leadership background with a proven track record in the Swiss market.

  • Demonstrated people leadership experience and solid cross-functional collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across functions and organizational levels.

  • Good technical knowledge of energy distribution and low-voltage switchgear or similar technical field. Furthermore, ability and interest to sell and promote digital solutions.

  • Sound understanding of contract negotiations, risk management, and commercial and legal terms.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, a customer-focused mindset, and a professional, proactive "can-do" attitude.

  • Fluent in German, with a good command of French and English.
