Role and responsibilities
Establishment of the NCCR CLIM+ Management Center at ETH Zurich in collaboration with the Executive Manager, as well as Prof. Sonia I. Seneviratne and Prof. David N. Bresch. Budget management and accounting of NCCR CLIM+, including distribution and financial controlling of SNSF funds allocated to the principal investigators of NCCR CLIM+. Budget management and accounting of ETH Zurich funding within NCCR CLIM+, including financial controlling. Financial reports for SNSF and ETH Zurich. Financial, human resources, and general administration of the Management Center. Timely execution of all activities and services in accordance with the SNSF' and ETH Zurich’s guidelines and process requirements. Correspondence and communication with the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF), ETH Zurich Administration, and NCCR CLIM+ PIs on financial and administrative matters. Co-organization of site visits, conferences, workshops, reports, and proposals in collaboration with NCCR CLIM+ Executive Manager, as well as Prof. Sonia I. Seneviratne and Prof. David N. Bresch.
Team / description
NCCR CLIM+ is led by ETH Zurich and the University of Bern, and includes 20 partner institutions across Switzerland. At ETH Zurich, NCCR CLIM+ is led by Prof. Sonia I. Seneviratne and Prof. David N. Bresch, with a total involvement of 17 professors and research groups from 8 departments. The other leading house is the University of Bern (co-director: Prof. Karin Ingold; deputy co-director: Prof. Olivia Romppainen-Martius). In total, the NCCR CLIM+ has 57 project partners from a range of institutions from Switzerland. The first phase of NCCR CLIM+ is planned until April 30, 2030, with a possible extension for an additional 4–8 years (up to 12 years in total). NCCR CLIM+ will also lead the development of a newly founded long-term Center for Climate Extremes and Resilience in Swiss Society (CERESS).
Qualifications and Skills
Demonstrated expertise and experience in finance management and budget controlling
High degree of autonomy
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
Excellent command of German (written and spoken)
Expertise and experience in administrative management (particularly finance and human resources)
Expertise and experience in event management and reporting
Solid computer skills (office, internet, budget accounting); ability to use programs and applications to solve complex problems and tasks quickly and independently
Efficient and precise work style
Sense of responsibility, quick learner, ability to take initiative, and organizational skills
Interpersonal skills, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure
Experience with university administrative processes is a plus
