Construction Project Engineer

Role and responsibilities
Supervise the execution of construction works and ensure, in liaison with the relevant external consultants (architects, structural and MEP engineers), that all works comply with contractual drawings and specifications. Ensure that all safety measures are properly implemented and adhered to on the worksites, while identifying potential issues, preventing their occurrence and managing the remediation of defects. Participate in testing, commissioning and taking-over activities to ensure the smooth handover of the works. Contribute to the design, coordination and procurement phases of new projects in close collaboration with the project manager, including monitoring consultants' deliverables during the construction phase. Coordinate on-site interfaces between contractors and CERN specialised services, organise the worksite according to the construction schedule, and monitor the progress, quality and budget of the works in close collaboration with the project manager.

Qualifications and Skills
Experience in Civil Engineering design or Construction works on site.
Experience in coordination.
Proficiency in the MS Office suite including MS project.
Familiarity with construction project management tools and methodologies.
Quality control, writing procedures, reports and minutes.
Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language.
You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
You have a professional background in Civil Engineering (or a related field) and have either: a Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience; or a PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience.
You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
