Senior HR Business Partner

Role and responsibilities

Act as the trusted HR advisor to senior leaders across Private Banking, Relationship Management, Investment Management and selected corporate functions. Develop a deep understanding of business strategy, client segments, revenue drivers, operating models and talent markets, and translate these insights into focused people priorities. Advise and appropriately challenge leaders on organisational design, workforce planning, team effectiveness, leadership capability and people risks. Use people data, business insight and sound judgement to identify trends, anticipate needs and recommend practical actions. Lead talent reviews, succession planning and development discussions. Partner with leaders to strengthen pipelines for scarce and business-critical talent through targeted market mapping, internal mobility and external search. Coach leaders on performance, feedback, team dynamics, retention and individual development, with a focus on clear accountability and high-quality leadership. Contribute to and facilitate leadership development initiatives and programmes that strengthen collaboration, client centricity and leadership effectiveness. Own and steer searches from business briefing through assessment, offer and onboarding, ensuring an excellent candidate experience. Build credible relationships with executive search and recruitment partners and ensure they understand the business, culture and success profile. Advise on hiring strategies, candidate assessment and compensation positioning while maintaining strong market intelligence and talent networks within the banking and investment community. Provide senior-level advice and hands-on support on complex employee relations matters, performance management, restructurings, organisational change and sensitive people situations, ensuring compliance with Swiss employment law and internal governance standards. Support the day-to-day execution of core HR processes and provide practical HR solutions to employee and manager issues. Lead the people dimension of organisational change, helping leaders communicate effectively, manage impact, navigate transitions and maintain employee engagement and performance. Partner closely with HR colleagues and specialist providers across compensation & benefits, payroll, HR operations, learning and development, and recruitment to deliver integrated, high-quality HR services and programmes. Play an active role in the operational delivery of HR, including manager support, case management, employee documentation, contract amendments, organisational changes, policy implementation and other core HR activities required to support the business. Drive the effective use of the bank's end-to-end HR platform, ensuring high-quality employee data, timely transaction processing, accurate reporting and streamlined, manager-led HR processes. Maintain high standards of confidentiality, documentation, record keeping and regulatory compliance, ensuring that all HR activities meet the expectations of a regulated financial institution.

Team / description

Qualifications and Skills

  • Approximately 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including substantial experience as an HR Business Partner or senior HR Generalist in financial services.

  • Demonstrated success supporting client-facing banking teams and/or investment businesses, such as Private Banking, Wealth Management, Asset Management, Investment Management or related regulated activities.

  • Proven capability across talent and succession, organisational development, performance management, complex employee relations, change and senior recruitment.

  • Solid knowledge of Swiss employment law and the confidentiality, conduct and regulatory expectations of a financial institution.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology or a related field. A Swiss HR qualification (HRSE) or equivalent.

  • Native French speaker with a high level of proficiency in English, enabling effective interaction across all levels of the organisation; knowledge of German is an asset.
