Research Team Manager - Circuit Breaker

Role and responsibilities
Set clear goals and priorities for the team, ensuring alignment with the overall research strategy. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and innovation, supporting the team in staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Build capabilities and succession within the team: plan capacity, people and resources; coach, mentor and develop engineers; maintain the team as a center of excellence for interrupter technology. Oversee different research laboratories, ensuring high safety standards and compliance. Contribute to research projects and pre-studies with your own scientific expertise. Participate in test campaigns, including taking on the electrical emergency first aider role (training will be provided). Foster the creation of new research project proposals and strategic research initiatives. Contribute to an innovative, motivating, and inclusive working environment. Maintain and expand a strong network with relevant business units and leading universities. Promote collaboration across all Hitachi Energy Research Centers.
Team / description
We are looking for a passionate Research Team Manager to lead our multidisciplinary Circuit Breaker research team in Baden-Dättwil (Switzerland), part of the Central European Hitachi Energy Research Center.
Qualifications and Skills
PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Technical expertise in areas such as circuit breakers, high power testing, plasma physics, along with an interest in emerging research and technology fields
Several years of experience and a proven track record in industrial R&D;, including people leadership experience
Fluency in English (written and spoken); German is an advantage
