Role and responsibilities

Own ZRS’s global climate resilience advisory proposition, ensuring it is relevant, differentiated and aligned with Zurich’s sustainability ambitions and customer needs. Lead Zurich’s thought leadership agenda on climate resilience, including external publications, customer engagements, conference participation and industry partnerships. Lead a team of technical Climate Resilience professionals who drive the development and enhancement of climate-related risk solutions (e.g. analytics, advisory services, tools and methodologies) that help customers understand and manage physical and transition climate risks. Oversee the customer-facing advisory teams that work across many of our countries and regions. Alongside the country leaders, drive the business development activity across markets by working with local ZRS and Commercial teams to embed climate resilience solutions into propositions, customer conversations and go to market strategies. Monitor market trends, regulatory developments and stakeholder expectations related to climate resilience, and translate insights into actionable initiatives and solution enhancements. Work with ZRS leaders and SMEs to develop concrete risk mitigation strategies for our customers across geographies and industries, and to develop integrated propositions that bring the best of ZRS cross-line of business capabilities to our customers. Collaborate closely with Sustainability, Group Risk, Underwriting, and other key stakeholders to integrate climate resilience into Zurich’s broader sustainability strategy and commercial offering. Explore partnership opportunities to enhance the service offering to customers. Provide strategic guidance and coaching to regional and local teams on climate resilience topics to build capabilities and ensure consistent delivery of our advisory proposition.

Team / description

Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS) is Zurich’s dedicated commercial risk engineering and risk advisory business. We act as a trusted partner to underwriting teams, insurance customers and independent advisory clients. Our experts provide services and solutions that help customers understand, manage and reduce their risks – from core risk engineering lines such as Property, Casualty, Energy, Construction & Marine, through to climate and natural hazards, cyber, supply chain and other emerging risks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Several years of experience in climate risk, sustainability, risk advisory, consulting or a related field, ideally with exposure to clients from many sectors.

  • Strong expertise in climate-related risks (physical and/or transition) and their implications for businesses, infrastructure and communities.

  • Expertise in risk engineering and underwriting.

  • Proven track record in developing and/or delivering advisory propositions, solutions or services in a complex, international environment.

  • Track record of commercial success in building/growing a business.

  • Ability to translate technical climate and risk concepts into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders and customers.

  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience working across functions and geographies.

  • The ability to influence and lead in a global matrix structure.

  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution capability – comfortable moving from concept development to practical implementation.

  • Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); additional languages are an advantage.

  • A growth-oriented, proactive and resilient mindset, with a genuine passion for sustainability and helping customers build climate resilience.
