MD-PhD Position (Interface of Clinical and Experimental Neurology)

Role and responsibilities

Actively contribute to the development and implementation of translational research projects in neuroimmunology with a focus on stroke. Combine clinical research with experimental laboratory work to investigate immunological mechanisms following cerebral ischemia. Plan, conduct, and analyze experiments (including FACS analyses and epigenetic methods). Analyze clinical and experimental data in close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. Contribute to scientific publications and presentations at international conferences. Participate in teaching activities in neurology and/or biomedical sciences.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master's degree, preferably in human medicine, neuroscience, biomedicine, or a related field

  • Strong interest in translational research in neuroimmunology and stroke

  • Experience in laboratory work, particularly FACS (flow cytometry) and/or epigenetic methods, is an advantage

  • Basic knowledge of data analysis and statistics

  • Excellent written and spoken English; German is an asset

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team
