System Security Specialist

Role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be jointly responsible for the system management of the central server, database, and virtualization infrastructure, with a strong focus on information security, ensuring secure and efficient system operations. You will design security architectures and implement security measures, supported by our central Cyber Security team. Your responsibilities include: Acting as the interface between Cyber Security and the Infrastructure Platform Services teams, Proactively identifying and assessing cyber security risks for Platform Services, Defining and implementing preventive measures to mitigate cyber security risks, Continuously enhancing protective measures in close collaboration with the business and Cyber Security teams, Creating and maintaining concepts, policies, and guidelines related to infrastructure security, Serving as the technical point of contact for information security matters within Infrastructure Platform Services

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s degree in Cyber Security or Computer Science, with further training and/or certifications in the field of cyber security

  • Several years of experience in enterprise infrastructure roles with a focus on cyber security, or in technical cyber security roles

  • Solid experience in designing, hardening, and operating enterprise Microsoft and Linux environments, databases, and virtualization solutions such as VMware, Kubernetes, Citrix, etc.

  • Experience in offensive security (security auditing, penetration testing, CTFs, etc.) and expertise in securing Azure / Microsoft 365 environments

  • Knowledge of cyber security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO/IEC 270xx series, NIST) and risk management

  • A cooperative, hands-on mindset and experience in applying and living agile working methods

  • Excellent communication skills in both German and English
