Role and responsibilities

Manage and maintain cloud operations in alignment with security, compliance, and company policies Design, build, and support CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, AWS Code Pipeline, and Jenkins Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation Enforce cloud engineering standards through governance, peer reviews, and best practices Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure system reliability and performance Automate operational processes, including patching, backup validation, and compliance checks Collaborate with application owners, IT teams, and the CISO organization to meet business and regulatory requirements Support change management processes, including CAB participation and technical documentation Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and contribute to cloud governance standards, policies, and operational runbooks

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience in a production environment

  • Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., pharmaceutical, biotech, medical devices)

  • Strong skills in Infrastructure-as-Code (preferably Terraform) and scripting (Python, Bash, or PowerShell)

  • Solid knowledge of AWS security services and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST CSF)

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or higher) or equivalent expertise

  • Experience with DevOps and cloud-native technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and CI/CD practices

  • Knowledge of disaster recovery, business continuity, and hybrid/multi-cloud environments

  • Additional advantages: AWS DevOps/Security certifications, AWS Bedrock, Veeva Vault or validated systems, NIS2 knowledge skills

  • Fluent in English, German is a plus
