IT Enterprise Architect, Manufacturing & Operations

Role and responsibilities

Define and drive the Manufacturing Enterprise Architecture roadmap aligned with business strategy and GxP/regulatory requirements. Establish and govern architecture principles, standards, and technology roadmaps across global manufacturing programs. Lead the technology architecture for new manufacturing facilities and the modernization of existing sites. Design and oversee the integration architecture between OT, manufacturing systems, and enterprise platforms. Ensure compliance with GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and other applicable pharmaceutical regulations. Shape enterprise integration, API, middleware, and data platform strategies, including MDM and advanced analytics capabilities. Enable real-time data exchange between manufacturing operations and business systems through Industry 4.0 technologies. Drive digital manufacturing initiatives, including MES, digital twins, predictive maintenance, batch analytics, and eBR solutions. Partner with senior business, engineering, quality, and regulatory stakeholders to align architecture decisions with business objectives. Mentor architects, support strategic technology selections, and lead architectural governance, vendor evaluations, and due diligence activities.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive IT architecture experience, including 5+ years in a Senior/Principal Enterprise Architect role

  • Proven experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry with strong knowledge of GxP, CSV/CSA, and regulatory requirements

  • Deep understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, including greenfield and/or major brownfield facility projects

  • Strong enterprise application architecture expertise, ideally with SAP S/4HANA

  • Proven track record in designing and governing large-scale enterprise integration architectures and API ecosystems

  • Experience defining and implementing enterprise data strategies, including data platforms, MDM, analytics, and data lake architecture

  • Solid knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF); certification is an advantage

  • Hands-on experience with digital manufacturing technologies such as MES, SCADA, DCS, eBR, LIMS, or related platforms

  • Good understanding of Industry 4.0, OT/IT convergence, industrial cybersecurity, IoT, and advanced manufacturing concepts
