Role and responsibilities

Lead, manage and continuously develop the GSCM Network & Demand Center organization in line with the strategic objectives of the division, encompassing Quality, Safety, People, Innovation, Sustainability, Customer Centricity and Operational Excellence, as well as Bachem’s leadership principles. Own and drive the forecast-to-plan process, ensuring continuous end to end transparency of demand, inventory and supply scenarios across the entire Bachem Group. Prepare, lead and follow up on the global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP;) process, ensuring alignment between commercial, operational and financial targets. Design and implement supply chains (global network design) for new product introductions and further develop existing supply chains, considering strategic partnerships with customers, manufacturers and key stakeholders. Lead the global product lifecycle management process (SKU level), including preparation and execution of make-or-buy decisions and end to end inventory management. Act as a key point of contact for internal and external customers within the Bachem Group and represent the GSCM organization in internal and external committees and forums. Ensure timely and accurate handling of customer requests in close collaboration with the regional supply organizations. Initiate and lead cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at improving supply chain performance, resilience and efficiency. Assume full budget and cost center responsibility for the assigned organizational unit.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Technical or commercial education at university level (FH / University)

  • Advanced education in Supply Chain Management, ideally including an APICS certification.

  • Experience in leading teams, including direct line management as well as leadership within matrix and cross functional organizations, with the ability to develop, coach and empower people, foster collaboration and create an environment where teams can grow and succeed together.

  • Strong end to end understanding of supply chain processes (planning, procurement, manufacturing, distribution and finance).

  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align diverse interests in a complex, global organization.

  • Strong executive-level communication skills, including presentation, negotiation, conflict management and resolution.

  • Fluent in English and German, both written and spoken.

  • Solid hands on experience with SAP (MM, PP, SD, QM).

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
