Joint Maintenance Mechanical Technician | Flight operation & support Air Force Payerne

Role and responsibilities
In this role, you are the link between maintenance, pilots and operations management, ensuring that the air force fleet is always ready for deployment and safe. In a dynamic environment, you will be responsible for the following tasks: Maintenance & Repair: Performing scheduled maintenance intervals, including system replacement and testing Repairs & Troubleshooting: Analyzing error messages, troubleshooting processes, and performing structural repairs Aircraft Handover to Pilots: Conducting the final pre-flight check Change Orders, Interim Flight Checks: Visual and functional inspections after each flight (aircraft and system condition) Active Participation in Domestic and International Campaigns: Accompanying pilots/jet crews to training flights Work at Military Airfields: Working at Payerne Military Airfield and at other Swiss military airfields as needed Driver/Logistics Support: Transporting and loading spare parts, tools, and specialized equipment within the airfield Documentation & Quality Management

Qualifications and Skills
Technical vocational training (EFZ), ideally with an electrical engineering focus (i.e. automation technician, electronics technician, diagnostician or similar profession)
practical experience and knowledge in flight operations and aircraft maintenance, ideally in a military environment, with the required module qualifications/licenses according to EASA Part-66, Category B1 (Mechanics) or B2 (Avionics) of advantage
Category B driver's license mandatory, Category C/E helpful
Conversational (technical) English skills (B2) and advanced digital competences (MS Office/SAP) desirable
High level of commitment and flexibility (for QRA, AMA, AMI, night/weekend shifts, and deployment changes both domestically and internationally)
Highly resilient, team-oriented personality with a reliable, precise work ethic and a strong sense of responsibility/safety awareness
Swiss citizenship (due to working on Swiss Military property)
