Aircraft Technician (F/A-18)

Role and responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on F/A-18 and future military aircrafts Carry out inspections, functional checks and testing in accordance with technical documentation Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and avionics systems Execute technical modifications and change orders Participate in aircraft preparation and return-to-service activities Ensure proper traceability of completed work and maintain maintenance documentation Actively contribute to safety, quality and continuous improvement within maintenance operations

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completed vocational training in a (electro-)technical field (i.e. Polymechanic, Automation technician, Electromechanical technician or comparable)

  • Strong interest in aviation and complex technical systems

  • Good (technical) English skills a prerequisite (or strong motivation to improve this competence)

  • Good command of either French or German; knowledge of a second national language is considered as plus

  • Category B driving licence

  • Reliable, precise and team-oriented personality with a strong sense of responsibility

  • Swiss citizenship (due to military/air force related function)

  • Optional but highly advantageous: previous aviatic and/or military jet related experiences (i.e. EASA Part-66 modules, B1/B2 licenses, SAP or other IT-management systems)
