Senior Operational Buyer

Role and responsibilities

Lead and coordinate procurement activities for assigned portfolios, ensuring continuity of supply, cost competitiveness, and compliance with procurement standards. Guide and support the Buyer team, providing direction on priorities, processes, and best procurement practices. Manage supplier relationships and drive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) initiatives through regular business reviews, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement plans. Oversee vendor performance, identifying opportunities to improve delivery reliability, quality, service levels, and regulatory compliance. Drive digitalization and process standardization across procurement activities, ensuring effective use of SAP and other procurement tools. Collaborate closely with Planning, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Finance, and other stakeholders to support operational excellence and supply chain objectives. Contribute to supply chain transformation and improvement projects, including material creation, supplier onboarding, certificate management, logistics optimization, and invoicing process enhancements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree or equivalent experience in SCM, Procurement, or any relevant field.

  • Proven experience in SCM & Procurement, preferably in a regulated industry.

  • Good knowledge of SAP MM ERP and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficiency in English is required; German proficiency is advantageous.

  • A great teammate, excelling in collaborating across cross-functional teams.
