Role and responsibilities

Lead the strategic and operational direction of the Lonza Training Center Visp. Manage and develop a team of 10–15 trainers. Coordinate external training partnerships and ensure alignment with site strategy. Oversee onboarding, GMP basic training, and qualification programs for operations staff. Conduct training sessions. Monitor and assess the effectiveness of training measures; manage KPIs and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders across functions and sites (e.g. Business Platforms, QA, EHS, HR). Analyze training needs and support employee development aligned with Lonza’s culture. Support new hires during onboarding and conduct performance check-ins.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Vocational qualification (EFZ) in chemical/pharma technology or training; ideally B.Sc./M.Sc./Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology

  • 10+ years of experience in GMP-regulated environments, preferably in biopharma manufacturing

  • Proven leadership experience and strong interpersonal skills

  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken)

  • Solution-oriented, structured, and resilient with high quality and safety awareness

  • Passion for people development and the ability to coach and guide diverse teams
