Role and responsibilities

Take operative and strategic responsibility for waste-related activities across different facilities. Ensure strict adherence to all relevant GMP, safety, and environmental regulations, including performing detailed risk assessments. Act as the central point of contact for internal teams (Production, EHS, Engineering) and external waste disposal partners. Monitor the "disposability" of materials and secure alternative disposal paths to prevent operational bottlenecks. Standardize cross-functional waste processes and leverage technology or data-driven approaches to improve efficiency. Control KPIs, generate detailed reports, and derive actionable improvement measures to promote recycling and sustainable solutions. Support and represent the Waste Logistics Manager in strategic projects and daily management tasks.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Chemical/Pharma Technology, Environmental Engineering, Biotechnology, Waste Management, or a comparable qualification (alternatively, extensive practical experience in a similar environment).

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in chemical or biopharmaceutical production or long-term operational experience in high-complexity logistics.

  • Deep knowledge of safety standards (SECO, SUVA, EKAS), GMP guidelines, and the handling of hazardous materials.

  • Experience with ERP and logistics systems such as SAP, TrackWise, Syncrotess, or similar tools.

  • Advanced IT and data analysis capabilities, particularly with MS Office, PowerBI, and modern reporting tools.

  • Strong analytical thinking, resilience, and the ability to lead and develop teams when acting in a deputy capacity.

  • Very good command of both German and English is required for cross-functional collaboration.
