Requirements Engineer

Role and responsibilities

Take ownership of end-to-end requirements management for software-development projects, from initial discovery and design through verification and validation for new features and enhancements. Elicit, analyse, structure and maintain complex system and application requirements, ensuring testability and end‑to‑end traceability. Create and refine user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria and functional specifications in close collaboration with product owners and development teams. Actively support change and scope management, including participation in change control processes as well as independent risk and security impact assessments. Contribute to reviews, demos and functional testing, ensuring requirements are implemented as intended and deliver business value. Continuously improve requirements‑engineering methods, processes and tools within an agile, cross‑functional environment. Advise project and product leadership on feasibility assessments, technical constraints, compliance aspects and effort estimation related to web-based solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completed degree in a technical or IT-related field (University / University of Applied Sciences), ideally complemented by further training in requirements engineering or business analysis

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in requirements engineering or business analysis in a complex software or ICT environment, preferably within agile web development projects

  • Strong analytical and structured working style, with excellent communication skills across interfaces such as development teams, UX/design, project management and customers

  • Experience working with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and modern web development contexts (e.g. APIs, cloud-based systems, microservices or headless architectures)

  • Very good written and spoken English
