Role and responsibilities

The Launch & Grow lead has overall accountability for the team of Technical Launch Integrators responsible for ensuring fit-for plant and commercial readiness during technical development and execution of the transfers of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and products into the supply chain and the global marketplace, including site-to-site transfers. Areas of key responsibility include DS, DP and/or DAP technical support and oversight for the supply chain, planning and execution of DS, DP and/or DAP manufacturing site activities from transfer through new product launch, stable initial commercial production, and managing launch & grow phase of a product. Responsible for providing leadership as well as strategic and tactical direction of resources within the assigned SM or LM Platform. Accountable for proper allocation of resources to meet the assigned Platform objectives and support key stakeholders. Maintains alignment with basic practices, norms, and strategic direction of key stakeholder functional areas (R&D;, Value Chain, QA, Regulatory, PES, and internal manufacturing sites). Leads the successful development and introduction of pharmaceutical products into internal and external manufacturing networks with the assistance of External Partners, MTO teams, and PC&D; teams within the assigned Platform. Participates proactively as part of related MSAT Leadership Teams (LTs) in driving synergies, sharing knowledge and delivering value by optimizing the internal / external network and introducing insights from external trends. Forges effective partnerships with key stakeholders to develop breakthrough solutions to successfully support product launches with an end-to-end mindset aligned with key business parameters such as speed to market and patient centered design. Creates a culture of empowerment, collaboration, flexibility, and competitiveness by optimizing talent, building capabilities, increasing global business acumen and industry knowledge supported by increased employee engagement across all areas of MSAT. Creates a patient first culture and focus for the introduction of products with the appropriate standards to strengthen the overall value to the customer in support of the J&J; Credo. 70% Partner with R&D;, VCM, and CMC teams in assigned Platform to support and enable the successful development of robust products, and lead new product introduction to internal and external manufacturing networks. 10% Proactively partner with external suppliers and industry leaders to understand concepts and potential design options to enable J&J; IM to assume a technical leadership position in the assigned area. 10% Partner with internal and external process engineering teams on optimization projects – delivering best in class products and processes. 10% Provide leadership and development for leaders and emerging talent, ensuring there is a diverse pipeline of high performing multi skilled leaders for the future. Qualifications and Skills

  • BS (required), MS or PhD. (preferred) in Scientific or engineering, or related discipline

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Minimum of 10 years working with field-related centers of excellence, technical teams, R&D;, or manufacturing sites

  • Experience in the design, development, and manufacturing of products in related platform

  • Direction of global teams across geographic regions

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a diverse team, and nurture an inclusive culture to realize the organization’s vision and Credo

  • Demonstrated ability in working with external manufacturing networks in leveraging and sharing best practices

  • Ability to influence peers and leaders within the organization

  • Experience in building strategic alliances with educational, industry, and research teams

  • Knowledge of industry technical standards in specific SM or LM technology platform

  • Knowledge & expertise in cGMP regulations

  • Soft skills: ability to work under pressure, handle conflicting interests, and take decisions; ability to work independently under general direction; having a good sense of prioritization of assigned personal and team’s tasks and goals and manage time accordingly; ability to create a result oriented (project) team; integrity, ability to take Credo based action.
