Lead Engineer - Civil

Role and responsibilities

Lead the civil engineering scope for Waste-to-X projects within a civil consortium or EPC civil works package. Coordinate civil design interfaces with consortium partners, subcontractors, internal engineering teams, clients, and authorities. Manage design activities during procurement and execution phases for civil, structural, geotechnical, architectural, and infrastructure packages. Ensure smooth collaboration between civil engineering disciplines and project stakeholders throughout design and construction. Support preparation of civil procurement packages, including technical and commercial contract requirements. Assist in contractor negotiations and respond to technical queries during procurement and project execution. Report project progress to project management and operations teams while supporting claim management activities. Travel up to 10% as required for project coordination and execution.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in EPC, construction, or large industrial projects as a Design Engineer.

  • Proven project management capabilities; PM certifications are an advantage.

  • Strong knowledge of international civil engineering design and construction codes and standards.

  • Experience with structural design software and 3D BIM tools such as Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.

  • Excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills.

  • Assertive and decisive personality with experience working in remote and multicultural teams.

  • Fluent in English, French, German or any additional languages are a plus.
