Role and responsibilities

Lead and manage defence-related projects from initiation through to delivery (scope, timeline, budget, quality) Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies Plan, structure, and monitor project activities in accordance with industry standards (e.g., PM frameworks, compliance requirements) Ensure adherence to Swiss and international defence regulations, export controls, and security protocols Manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies Coordinate cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, quality, and external suppliers Drive performance tracking, reporting, and governance (KPIs, milestones, deliverables) Support contract management, including change requests and commercial negotiations Prepare and present project updates to senior leadership and stakeholders Ensure documentation and audit readiness in line with defence standards

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in defence, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries

  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (PMI, PRINCE2, Agile where applicable)

  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects

  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks, export control regulations, and security requirements

  • German: Fluent (mandatory)

  • English: Professional proficiency (mandatory)

  • French is an advantage

  • Experience working with Swiss defence organisations (e.g., armasuisse) or European defence programmes

  • Background in systems engineering or technical project environments

  • Certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent

  • Experience in procurement or supply chain within defence projects

  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland

  • Willingness to undergo security clearance (if required)

  • Willingness to travel within Switzerland and occasionally internationally
