Role and responsibilities

Define material and chemistry-related roadmap for polymers, adhesives, potting compounds and cleaning processes. Evaluate new polymer technologies. Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements (drinking water, hygiene, toxicology,..) and act as advisor for the Health and Safety responsible concerning chemical safety. Develop, optimize, and standardize chemical manufacturing processes while leading qualification, validation, and implementation activities. Support new product introductions and industrialization projects while delivering sustainable solutions to critical process challenges. Act as the global expert for material-related manufacturing issues and complex chemical process challenges. Lead cross-functional improvement initiatives to enhance quality, productivity, sustainability, and cost efficiency while fostering knowledge sharing across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hold a PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Macromolecular Chemistry, Materials Chemistry or a closely related discipline, alternatively a Master's degree combined with extensive industrial experience.

  • Bring at least 10 years of experience in industrial chemistry within a manufacturing environment.

  • Have hands-on experience with polymers, adhesives, potting materials, surface treatments and chemical analytical methods.

  • Understand regulatory requirements related to hygienic, toxicological or drinking-water applications.

  • Have successfully transferred chemical technologies from development into industrial production.

  • Are comfortable leading technical projects and influencing stakeholders across functions and sites.
