Senior Consultant – Valuation and Modelling

Role and responsibilities

Help our clients to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their companies. By joining our Valuation and Modeling team, you will learn how to support finance and corporate leaders make complex strategic investment decisions, analyse enterprise performance, develop financial business plans, and quantify the success of M&A deals and value creation initiatives. We bring in-depth corporate finance knowledge and experience, coupled with valuation expertise and financial modeling capabilities, to our clients’ most complex transactions, transformations, and corporate events around the globe. Be part of a team of highly specialised Valuation & Modelling practitioners, combining core capabilities across finance, capital markets, corporate development & investment, financial planning, M&A, and strategy. Lead diverse projects across a range of industries, from valuing businesses and assets, to building financial models that capture a company’s economic essence, to working with Boards and the C-Suite on quantifying and creating shareholder value. Assess our clients’ financial and business challenges, evaluate suitable solutions based on quantitative analysis, market research, data modeling, and strategic business planning. Provide support in the valuation of businesses and intangible assets (e.g. brands, customer relationships, IP portfolios, etc.) for mergers and acquisitions, litigation support, dispute resolution, financial reporting, purchase price allocations, restructuring, and financial advisory. Perform research and analysis on various sectors and industries and prepare financial and economic analyses on companies, comparable transactions and public companies using Deloitte databases and other publicly available information. Develop detailed financial models in Excel using best practice financial modelling techniques, in the context of transactions, financing, capital investment decisions, and strategic corporate planning. Use these models to analyze and forecast financial outcomes and assist in decision-making processes. Present findings and analysis in compelling presentations and reports to effectively communicate insights and recommendations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • You are a curious and committed team player with the ability to learn and apply new information quickly, who likes to work methodically with great attention to detail, willing to take on responsibility and adopt a proactive attitude in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to thrive under pressure.

  • You have 3-5 years of post-university experience applying the core tenets of valuation and corporate finance in the context of transactions or corporate planning, as well as a high proficiency in building advanced financial models, within another consulting firm, private equity, M&A, FP&A or corporate development practice.

  • You are a CFA charterholder or in the process of completing CFA.

  • You bring demonstrable capabilities in corporate finance with a track record of building complex financial models, together with a fluency in valuation and accounting principles and standards.

  • You are equipped with advanced skills in Excel and Powerpoint.

  • Fluent in English and German (oral and writing skills), French would be an advantage.
