Gas Engine Specialist

Role and responsibilities

You develop and share technical knowledge and expertise related to gas engines across the relevant development teams. You collaborate with technical teams to define solutions in areas such as engine design, combustion, controls and application. You analyze and assess technical requirements and specifications for gas engine applications. You perform technical benchmark analyses of gas engine technologies for genset applications. You lead root cause analyses and problem-solving activities for gas engine issues identified on test benches or in the field. You collect and analyze customer requirements and translate them into technical and functional specifications. You support technical discussions with customers and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and subcontractors to ensure alignment with technical requirements, standards and processes. You identify and develop innovative solutions to improve engine performance, quality, cost and efficiency while contributing to continuous improvement and knowledge management.

Qualifications and Skills

  • You hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Energy Engineering or a related technical field

  • You have extensive professional experience in gas engine development, specifically for power generation applications

  • You possess in-depth technical expertise in gas engines and have a strong understanding of current technologies and trends in the global gas engine market

  • You have experience in the technical execution of complex gas engine development projects, from feasibility analysis through to implementation and production readiness

  • You are fluent in English and German, knowledge of French is an advantage

  • You have advanced knowledge of MS Office, MS Project, CRM and ERP systems

  • You demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and approach complex technical challenges in a structured manner
