Role and responsibilities

Develop and execute innovative biochemical and biophysical assays using diverse technologies, with emphasis on surface plasmon resonance. Contribute to the functional characterization of protein targets supporting oncology drug discovery projects. Profile compounds and investigate their mechanisms of action across low molecular weight and radioligand therapy programs. Analyze, interpret, and document experimental data in electronic laboratory notebooks and scientific reports. Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary, cross-functional, and multi-site project teams. Present experimental findings, conclusions, and recommendations clearly to project teams and internal stakeholders.

As a Scientific Associate in our Oncology Biochemistry group, you will develop innovative assays, characterize protein targets, and investigate how promising compounds work. Supporting both low molecular weight and radioligand therapy projects, you will collaborate across disciplines and sites to generate high-quality scientific insights that advance oncology drug discovery.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Biophysics, or a related discipline. This position is not intended for doctoral or postdoctoral candidates.

  • Practical laboratory experience in a comparable research position.

  • Hands-on experience with biochemical assays, including time-resolved fluorescence resonance energy transfer, fluorescence polarization, and enzyme assays.

  • Practical expertise in biophysical methods, particularly surface plasmon resonance.

  • Experience analyzing protein-ligand interactions, including standard curve fitting and data interpretation.

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory automation using small-scale workstations, together with fluency in English.

  • Previous laboratory experience supporting drug discovery research.

  • Proficiency in German or French in addition to English.
