Role and responsibilities
Put cutting-edge AI weather models to the test and evaluate their value for energy forecasting Build data pipelines and tools to process, analyze, and visualize weather forecast data Support the daily operations of the meteorology desk, including weather briefings, forecast monitoring, and ad-hoc analyses Collaborate with cross-functional teams to further develop innovative forecasting solutions Analyze forecast data and translate findings into clear insights and recommendations Contribute your own ideas and support continuous improvement of workflows and tools

Qualifications and Skills
Ongoing or completed BSc or MSc in Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Science, Meteorology, or a similar field
Proficiency in Python and experience working with NetCDF and GRIB data formats
Foundational knowledge of deep learning, ideally with PyTorch, and an understanding of transformer and graph neural network architectures
Interest in meteorology and atmospheric science, including familiarity with the AI weather model landscape
Ideally, first experience with forecast verification, backtesting, fine-tuning, or downscaling models
Strong communication and teamwork skills with fluent English, both written and spoken
