Unified Communication Engineer

Role and responsibilities
Design, development and optimisation of global Unified Communications services (Cisco Jabber, Webex, Video Conferencing, VBrick): Responsible for the architecture, implementation, and ongoing improvement of secure, scalable, and highly available UC solutions. Technical lead for UC in projects: Act as subject matter expert, providing technical guidance and ensuring integration of UC requirements in local and global IT initiatives. 3rd level support for UC incidents: Resolve complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and ensure minimal disruption to business operations. Documentation ownership: Maintain up-to-date technical configurations and create clear end-user guides to support efficient service delivery and adoption. Vendor and stakeholder collaboration: Liaise with technology vendors, service providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure SLAs are met and future needs are addressed proactively.

Qualifications and Skills
Higher technical education: Degree from a university of applied sciences (FH/TS) or equivalent in IT/telecommunications
Self-motivated with strong organisational skills: Works independently, efficiently, and with precision in a demanding environment
Strong understanding of underlying UC infrastructure: Knowledge of networking fundamentals (VoIP, QoS, SIP, RTP) and integration with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and firewall/security systems
Experience with monitoring and automation tools: Skilled in using UC management platforms, log analysis, and scripting to proactively detect issues and streamline operations
Problem-solving mindset: Skilled at diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues quickly and systematically, ensuring high availability of communication services
Collaborative team player: Works effectively in cross-functional teams and communicates clearly with both technical peers and non-technical stakeholders
Fluent in German and English: Proficient in both languages, enabling effective communication across teams and regions
