Legal Entity Controller - Associate

Role and responsibilities

Support month-end, quarter-end, half-year and year-end close for Swiss legal entities, including statutory and corporate reporting. Help ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial statements, including review of key balances and variance drivers. Perform balance sheet substantiation, reconciliations to the general ledger and data quality checks, escalating issues where required. Support intercompany reporting and assist with resolution of intercompany and investment-related differences. Produce variance analysis across the balance sheet and profit and loss and support management commentary. Coordinate with local and offshore partners to deliver reporting requirements and resolve queries efficiently. Support responses to regulatory and head office requests, including evidence gathering and data validation. Assist with internal and external audit activity, including preparing documentation and addressing follow-up items. Support local tax reporting activities and coordinate with relevant partners and auditors as needed. Contribute to financial management information, including dashboards, board materials, revenue analysis and forecasting support. Support governance over intercompany charges in alignment with transfer pricing and tax requirements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree in Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline, and/or an accountancy qualification.

  • Relevant experience in a financial institution or audit firm, with exposure to controllership, legal entity reporting or related finance roles.

  • Experience with reconciliations, control processes and preparation of internal, external or statutory reporting.

  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial statements.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Fluency in English is required.

  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a control-focused mindset.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.

  • Ability to prioritise, manage multiple deliverables and deliver accurately under time pressure.

  • Proactive, improvement-oriented approach with a willingness to challenge and enhance existing processes.
