Postdoctoral Fellow - Cancer Immunology

Candidates will be expected to take the lead role in their projects, publish manuscripts as the first author, and present their projects and data at lab meetings, as well as international meetings. We are looking for someone who is excited to discover and answer questions related to neuro-immunology, and who demonstrates critical thinking, scientific rigor, and attention to detail.

The Department of Biomedicine is a joint effort between the University of Basel and the University Hospitals Basel. It unites basic and clinical scientists to advance our understanding of health and disease and to develop pioneering therapies benefiting the lives of patients in areas of unmet need. With more than 70 research groups and 800 employees, the Department of Biomedicine is the largest department at the University. We are located in the heart of Basel at 6 different locations.

Qualifikationen und Fähigkeiten

  • A Ph.D. in immunology, oncology, or a related field.

  • Strong interest in immunology.

  • Strong skills in conducting independent in-vivo studies, and knowledge of managing strains for independent projects, including genetically modified mouse models.

  • Experience with spectral flow cytometry is essential.

  • Experience with cell sorting, preparation of tissues for RNAseq and confocal microscopy analysis is highly desirable.

  • Experience in cellular and molecular biology.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to work independently.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
