Team / Beschreibung

The Experimental Quantum Engineering (EQE) group at ETH Zurich and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) invites applications for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to work at the interface of quantum optics, quantum information science and quantum many-body physics. Led by Prof. Wenchao Xu, the EQE group develops programmable quantum systems based on neutral atoms and Rydberg interactions to advance both fundamental quantum science and next-generation quantum technologies. Our research combines atomic physics, quantum control, and scalable architectures for fault-tolerant quantum computation, hybrid quantum simulation, and quantum-enhanced sensing.

Qualifikationen und Fähigkeiten

  • PhD in physics or a related field

  • Strong background in experimental AMO physics or quantum optics

  • Experience with cold atoms, optical tweezers, lasers, or quantum control techniques is highly desirable

  • Strong interest in neutral-atom quantum technologies and many-body quantum physics

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

  • Good communication skills in English (German is a plus)
