The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for carrying out architecture definition, design, parts integration, mechanical analysis, and test activities. The knowledge should include design and simulations of sub-systems assembly for different verticals, environmental analysis, motion systems and design for manufacturing. The tasks include working closely with other engineers and Project Managers to assist in project planning, scheduling, and risk assessment activities with clear responsibilities and impact on the project’s results. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team to develop phased array antenna and optical communication system for ground and aerospace applications. In collaboration with your project team members, you own the mechanical development cycle of the antenna development: Drive requirements, architecture definition and tradeoffs. Design, simulate and test, assembly and parts for complex integrated system. Collaborate with manufacturers and test facilities. Partner with System, Hardware, Radio frequency engineers and with our internal and external experts.

Qualifikationen und Fähigkeiten
BS/MSc in Mechanical Engineering
5+ years of proven experience in mechanical engineering in the space industry
Strong experience with thermal simulations and thermal management techniques
Experience in system level architecture that may include aspects of mechanical, electrical, radio frequency and optical disciplines
Good experience in embedded packaging for harsh environment
Strong documentation skills and an ability to report on technical solutions and findings
Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) methodologies and techniques
Familiarity with product certification, regulatory compliance and volume manufacturing
Hands-on, familiar with test equipment, and lab assembly
Ability to understand end-to-end systems and solve issues.
Analytical skills and interest, able and inclined to learn new diverse material at a fast pace
Experience with low and high-volume manufacturing processes
Availability to travel to the US and across Europe to follow up with the other team members, contractors, and to attend conferences
