RF Engineer Intern

We are looking for an RF engineer intern who is eager to contribute to a small but fast-paced team that is developing solutions to a growing market. You will participate in developing large projects throughout the entire program life cycle. You’ll work closely with experienced RF engineers and hardware team, contributing to a future phased array product. During your internship period at Viasat in Lausanne, you will learn a lot as part of a team of senior engineers, developing groundbreaking satellite communications antenna technologies. You’ll play a key role in the design and development of ground breaking RF antenna systems. You’ll design, simulate and optimize radomes and antenna elements for Phased array at high frequencies. Working with the system and hardware teams to converge toward the best solutions. Developing and testing in the anechoic chamber the antenna and radome solutions in a modern lab environment. This role provides an opportunity to work with some of the most modern antenna systems in the world.

Qualifikationen und Fähigkeiten
You are currently attending (at least 3rd year) or have completed a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in a relevant Engineering field.
Must be available to work full time for duration of internship (6 months with potential to hire full time after internship)
You have (student) experience working both independently and collaboratively in a lab environment
First experience using RF simulation tools like HFSS or ADS
Familiarity with RF measurement instrumentation
Ideally, you have worked in multidisciplinary (student) teams RF, Hardware, Layout
Swiss, EU (25) Citizenship or Valid Swiss Work Permit required
Strong oral and written communications skills
Being a self-motivated individual that can work well independently and on a team
Proficiency with test equipment –spectrum analyzers, etc.
