Operational Excellence Officer for Mortgages

Oversee the complete administrative journey of mortgage facilities — from initial booking and amendments to renewal, early repayment, and final settlement. Execute transactional activities with accuracy and timeliness, including new loans, modifications, refinancing, and system updates. Ensure consistent data integrity across core banking and real estate systems, serving as a trusted source of truth. Collaborate closely with Front Office, Mortgage Advisory, Credit Risk, Legal, and external partners to guarantee seamless client experiences and operational agility. Conduct daily operational checks, reconciliations, and exception monitoring to safeguard data accuracy and process reliability. Support adherence to internal policies and evolving regulatory requirements (including FINMA oversight, SNB initiatives). Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve operational risks and pending items to maintain audit readiness. Contribute to refining SOPs, control frameworks, and risk mitigation measures. Act as an operational partner in cross-functional projects focused on automation, digitalisation, and customer journey enhancement. Identify inefficiencies and co-design scalable solutions that elevate both productivity and service quality. Assist in shaping future-state processes, technology integrations, and change management rollouts.

Qualifikationen und Fähigkeiten

  • Completed tertiary education — either a university Bachelor’s degree or a commercial qualification ( _EFZ_ ) with relevant further training

  • 3–5 years of solid experience in Swiss mortgage operations or loan administration, ideally within private banking or retail financial institutions

  • In-depth knowledge of the Swiss mortgage lifecycle, product types, collateral handling, and related operational workflows

  • Demonstrated experience in data management, reporting, and operational controls — familiarity with regulatory expectations is a distinct advantage

  • Strong analytical abilities and a natural interest in process optimisation, whether in daily tasks or large-scale transformations

  • Enjoys project-based work; self-motivated to take initiative and see efforts through to successful completion

  • Comfortable operating autonomously while building effective relationships across departments and hierarchies

  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken); proficiency in French or Italian is a significant asset

  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint); prior experience with core banking platforms or CRM/loan systems is beneficial
