CERN Organisation Européenne pour la Recherche Nucléaire

Telecom and Network Infrastructure Technician

📍 Geneva

Rolle und Verantwortlichkeiten

Review cabling requests and collaborate with requesters to clarify needs when necessary. Help define suitable cable types and routes, working with users and taking into account the local environment. Coordinate cabling and de-cabling activities with both internal teams and external partners (e.g. contractors). Prepare clear and practical documentation to support the work (such as drawings and technical plans). Contribute to safe working practices by identifying potential risks and supporting the implementation of mitigation measures in line with CERN standards. Support the organisation of logistics for cabling activities, including materials, access, and required equipment. Participate in worksite coordination and follow-up meetings. Track progress and help ensure that work is carried out safely and with good quality. Take part in inspections and acceptance of completed work, and help keep infrastructure records up to date.

Team / Beschreibung

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature.
