Finance AI Lead

Establish and lead the central AI stream within the Finance Digital Team, shaping the vision, roadmap and priorities. Identify high-value AI opportunities across Finance and turn process pain points into scalable, measurable cloud based AI solutions. Guide the development of AI assistants, knowledge solutions, workflow automations and decision-support tools for Finance. Be the senior AI contact for the CFO area, connecting Finance with Group IT, Microsoft, Databricks, Langdock and Axpo’s wider GenAI community. Run practical workshops and discovery sessions, helping stakeholders understand what AI can do and making sure solutions actually stick. Provide direction and mentoring to your junior AI colleague based in Madrid while building reusable methods, standards and components across Finance.

You'll join Axpo’s Finance Digital Solutions team in Baden, part of the Group CFO Area. You’ll work closely with colleagues in Baden and Madrid, and with stakeholders across Axpo’s Finance functions. We value curiosity, openness and every perspective.

• A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information Systems, Engineering, Economics, Finance or a comparable field.

• Several years of experience in AI, GenAI, data, digital transformation, software engineering, machine learning or a closely related area.

• Theoretical and Hands-on experience with cloud AI platforms—ideally Microsoft Azure certifications in the area of cloud development, AI, data analytics or similar

• Strong understanding of the MS 365 ecosystem from the backend point of view to leverage it to create seamless integrated and secure AI-based applications

• Demonstrated experience in the field of Agentic AI custom development, evaluation, observability and cost-efficient deployment using frameworks like Pydantic AI, Langchain, etc.

• Solid skills of Python, SQL and the confidence to work with APIs, data sources, databases- ideally Databricks - and integration patterns, while keeping the bigger picture firmly in view.

• Fluent English is required; German skills are a nice bonus.
